FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

What age boys and girls can play for the Delphos BSA?

Ages 7 thru 14. They must be at least 7 years old and not 15 years of age on May 1. An exception exists for boys who are 15 on May 1, but who have not yet entered high school. The City of Delphos runs an instructional program for boys and girls ages 5 or 6. The Delphos BSA takes registrations and aids in communication from this program, but does not operate it.

How do I sign my child up and how much does it cost?

For the 2019 season sign-ups are March 2 & 9 from 9 to noon at the Franklin Elementary cafeteria. Cost for a single child is $35, for 2 children is $65 and 3 or more is $80 per family.

What will my child need in order to play?

The only requirement is a baseball glove. All other necessary equipment for most participants is provided by Delphos BSA. However, beginning with the 2017 season, any boy 10-12 selected to play on one of the 4 "City League" teams and all boys playing in the "Pony" league (ages 13-15) will be asked to purchase their own specific uniform pants.

When does the season begin and end?

The season begins for first year boys with try-outs on March 25, and the final game for most ages is around the second week of July. (See the schedule section of the site for more info.)

What days will my child have games/practices?

That will depend on the team. (See the schedule section of the site for more info.)

How can I help out?  (Volunteers are always needed.)

We welcome anyone willing to assist in coaching, umpiring, managing equipment, working in concession stands or otherwise supporting a successful season. If you are interested in any of these, please contact us by sending us an email or our Facebook page. For those with children registering to participate, you may also note your interest on your child's registration form.

How can I become a player, team or league sponsor?
